Zisha Clay Care Guide
A Yixing Zisha teapot is more than a teaware item — it is a living companion that evolves with use. Proper care ensures its beauty and performance improve over time.
-
Use one teapot for one tea type
Zisha absorbs tea oils and aromas. Using one tea category (such as Pu-erh, Oolong, or Black Tea) helps build a pure and richer flavor. -
Rinse with warm water only
Never use soap or detergent. Simply rinse thoroughly after each use. -
Dry naturally
Leave the lid open after cleaning and allow the teapot to air dry completely. -
Wipe gently while warm
Use a soft tea cloth to polish the surface after brewing. Over time this develops a beautiful natural patina. -
Avoid sudden temperature changes
Do not pour boiling water into a cold teapot directly. Warm it first to reduce thermal shock.
With proper care, a Zisha teapot becomes more beautiful, more seasoned, and more personal with every cup.
