Zisha Clay Care Guide

A Yixing Zisha teapot is more than a teaware item — it is a living companion that evolves with use. Proper care ensures its beauty and performance improve over time.

  1. Use one teapot for one tea type
Zisha absorbs tea oils and aromas. Using one tea category (such as Pu-erh, Oolong, or Black Tea) helps build a pure and richer flavor.

  2. Rinse with warm water only
Never use soap or detergent. Simply rinse thoroughly after each use.

  3. Dry naturally
Leave the lid open after cleaning and allow the teapot to air dry completely.

  4. Wipe gently while warm
Use a soft tea cloth to polish the surface after brewing. Over time this develops a beautiful natural patina.

  5. Avoid sudden temperature changes
Do not pour boiling water into a cold teapot directly. Warm it first to reduce thermal shock.

With proper care, a Zisha teapot becomes more beautiful, more seasoned, and more personal with every cup.
